Xavier Iles
Xavier has worked at Bryanston since 2018 and was appointed Director of Music in 2020. Before that he was Assistant Director of Music at Wellington College in Berkshire.
He studied Music at Worcester College, Oxford with Professor Robert Sherlaw-Johnson and Professor Robert Saxton. During his time there he was a choral scholar in the renowned Worcester College Chapel Choir.
Xavier very much enjoys directing choirs. During his time at Wellington, he founded an a-cappella group which twice won the Voice Festival UK’s National Youth A Cappella competition.
Since coming to Bryanston he has musically directed several musical productions, including Little Shop of Horrors, Les Miserables and most recently The Phantom of the Opera.
Graham Scott
Graham Scott has been working with Bryanston Choral Society as an accompanist and conductor since 2003. He has been Head of Keyboard at Bryanston since 2003, was Assistant Director of Music Instrumental (2008-18) and became Deputy Director of Music in September 2018.
He enjoys a varied career as a teacher of piano, organ, and academic music, as an organist, pianist, harpsichordist, conductor, and repetiteur. With Bryanston Choral Society, he has conducted a wide range of repertoire, including music by Bach, Charpentier, Handel, Liszt, Mozart, Flor Peeters, Poulenc, and Stanford.
Born in Aberdeen, he studied at the RSAMD in Glasgow (graduating with First Class Honours) and as a postgraduate at the University of Strathclyde, Toulouse Conservatoire (where he was awarded the Premier Prix in Organ), and Amsterdam Conservatorium.
